My Current Ultra Light Pack List

Over the past few years I've worked to drop my pack weight to what is called ultra light (UL).  In order to be considered UL ones pack needs to have a base weight of no more then 10 lbs.  Base weight refers to the items that do not decrease in weight as the hike progresses.  All other pack items are considered consumables, they are used up, decreasing in weight with an ultimate goal of being zero by the conclusion of the hike.

There may be a way to enter a PDF on a blog but I couldn't figure it out so I hope these pictures are clear enough to read and understand.  Below you will see a sample of my current pack list for my hike planned for this next summer.  I intend to blog on some of these items in the future.  I'm constantly working to improve this list and it does change often.

If you are interested in learning about ultra light hiking there are tons of great sites you can visit on the internet.  Along with these sights there are a number of great books that I have really enjoyed.  Bellow is a link to a great book that got me rolling:

  1. Wow that's a great list! When I did Mount Robson my pack weighed 42 pounds, I can only imagine the difference that 10-15 pounds would make

    1. Thanks man, also for being my first comment, I have finely arrived. Weight is everything on the trail, and makes all the difference especially the older you get.
